AXPO UK

Axpo UK was established in 2008 and are part of the larger Swiss group Axpo who are Switzerland’s largest producer of renewable energy. Collectively they employ over 5000 people and are an international leader in energy trading.

As an active shipper/supplier in the UK market, Axpo were looking for a platform which allowed them to bill their portfolio of large I&C gas sites incorporating the many complex invoicing factors including: pass through of costs, different contractual terms and trades. The billing module in the Enterprise version of GENUS® met these requirements and Datamere and Axpo UK began working together in 2017.
Since then, we have worked together on a number of projects to help accommodate Axpo’s changing business requirements and to reflect the complex needs of this type of I&C portfolio and associated contracts.

Additionally, Datamere Managed Services (DMS) have worked with Axpo on a number of data queries and issues that they inherited along with new sites. The DMS team spent some time on site reviewing the data with Axpo and then took on the management of some of the flows in order to resolve the queries. These encompassed a number of historical issues around read acceptances, meter exchanges etc and over a set time period, all of these queries have been resolved and closed down. Rejected read issues can have a material impact on settlements so Axpo UK were extremely pleased to get the issues resolved.

Dealing with rejected industry flows can be time consuming and complex. DMS worked with Axpo UK to identify all historic issues and put a plan in place to correct these. The result was the correction of any historic issues and the acceptance of all reads going forward. Training was also provided by DMS, "to ensure that we could tackle these issues in the future and therefore allow us to expand our knowledge and capabilities” explained Ashley Greenfield, Head of Projects and Process Management at Axpo UK.

The DMS team were glad to be able to help Ashley resolve the issues. The gas industry is notorious for poor data, so any supplier taking on new sites has their hands full. Obviously in scenarios where costs are affected, it is imperative to get these issues resolved as soon as possible.
