25 Years of our HISTORY
25 years is a long time in any sort of industry and when we look back over the past quarter of a century, the gas (and electricity) industry is no exception. The industry has already seen huge change over the past 25 years in areas such as, market deregulation, the introduction of RGMA, project Nexus, the DCC and smart metering and more recently the introduction of Faster Switching. The MHHS or market wide half hourly settlement programme, is the next big industry change which affects the electricity market for which we are developing multiple DIP connected solutions. Datamere has had to understand these industry changes and adapt and grow in order to manage them, but at our core, we remain the same. Our aim is to provide innovative, market leading software, using our straightforward approach. Datamere is owned and run by the people working in the business and by getting this right, we’re celebrating our 25 year anniversary and looking forward to the next milestone!

1999
Datamere is established.
2000
Launch of GMS2000 our first gas software platform.
2001
Proteus protocol added to system and CCL introduced for gas.
2002
Shipper ‘Hub’ first release. Datamere win a Deloitte & Touche Winner 2002 Fast 50 Award.
2003
GMSV3 released. Datamere win a Deloitte & Touche Winner 2003 Fast 50 Award.
2004
RGMA goes live in the gas industry.
2005
Shipper ‘Hub’ first release. Datamere win a Deloitte & Touche Winner 2002 Fast 50 Award.
2006
Introduction of NOSI flows to allow information exchange between suppliers.
2007
Datamere first web portal release.
2008
The 2008 Energy Act is established to tackle climate change, reduce carbon emissions and secure stable energy supplies.
2009
GMS V4 Scoped and started.
2010
Datamere begin to expand the company and move into new larger offices at Ladyfield House to allow more space for the team to grow.
2011
GENUS® created and scoped.
2012
Datamere exhibit at the First Energy Event at the NEC.
2013
Simon is a finalist in the NW Technology Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
2014
Datamere launch the Energy Support Bureau to offer managed services to new suppliers.
2015
GENUS® first release, completely rewritten in .NET.
2016
Datamere enter the market for electricity supply software and start the framework to add electricity into GENUS®
2017
Project Nexus goes live. Energy Support Bureau becomes Datamere Managed Services.
2018
GENUS® Power released. DCC live for domestic suppliers.
2019
Relaunch of GENUS® Sales Module and TRAS reporting functionality.
2020
Covid pandemic - worldwide lockdown. First client migrates to GENUS® Power and live on DTN.
2021
Energy prices spike - unprecedented supplier and shipper failures.
2022
Faster Switching goes live. Datamere launch GENUS® Shipper in response to Ukraine War affecting gas shipping agreements. Datamere begin work on MHHS programme. Introduction of EBRS for energy pricing support from govt.
2023
Datamere complete first power accreditation project and introduce GENUS GridFlo. EBDS introduced by govt for ongoing energy support.
2024
AMVLP process confirmed and Datamere working with Enegen to offer AMVLP accreditation and GENUS® GridFlo.
